Why This Moment Matters

Three reasons this is the donation that compounds for life.

١

The first masjid in Hackensack.

Hackensack is the seat of Bergen County, yet there has never been an official masjid in the city. We are about to change that. A permanent, state-of-the-art Islamic center on 1.3 acres at 720-730 Main Street.

٢

The 10 best days of the year.

"There are no days during which righteous action is more beloved to Allah than these days" (Bukhari 969). Sadaqah given in the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah carries multiplied reward.

٣

A house for you in Jannah.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah builds for him a similar house in Paradise." (Bukhari 450 / Muslim 533). Every dollar is a brick in that house.

Hackensack is the seat of Bergen County, but until now there has been no recognized house-of-worship masjid in the city. Our current location at 78 Trinity Place serves the community, but it sits in a parking lot adjacent to a major residential and commercial development. The new building at 720-730 Main Street will be the first permanent, fully recognized masjid in Hackensack, with full house-of-worship status, dedicated prayer halls, classrooms, and parking.

The project moves forward either way, but every month we delay completion construction costs rise. Our target is Fall 2026 completion. The $500K Dhul Hijjah goal closes the immediate gap and lets us avoid taking on additional financing. The longer we wait, the more expensive the project becomes.

Yes. Naming opportunities are available at the Founders Circle level ($10,000 and above). The board reviews each request individually. Contact [email protected] or call 201-488-8075 to discuss specific spaces.

Yes, insha'Allah. Once the new masjid opens in Fall 2026, it will host full daily prayers, Jumu'ah, Taraweeh during Ramadan, Eid prayers, weddings, funerals, Sunday school, and community programs. The 13,000 sq ft space is designed to accommodate the entire growing community.
